The Mannjim Festival (Muwah-Awasuh-Nchang-Nji -Muluh): A Celebration of Legacy, Unity, and Tradition
The Mannjim Festival (Muwah-Awasuh-Nchang-Nji-Muluh) is not merely an event; it is a living embodiment of the spirit, history, and heritage of Muwah, a majestic celebration that transcends time. Rooted deeply in the rich legacy of the Taka Royal Dynasty. Muwah, the Pinyin Clan and Africa, this extraordinary festival connects generations of ancestors and their descendants, creating a bridge that spans across centuries. It is a celebration of all that the Muwah people have endured, achieved, and contributed to the prosperity of the region, marking the beginning of a journey that continues to shape the future.
The name Mannjim itself is a testament to the strength and endurance of the Muwah people. It echoes the story of their migration—from the ancestral lands of Central Pinyin to Efum-Nchang in Buchi, and eventually to the heart of Muwah land. This migration, both spiritual and physical, marks the origin of the Muwah Kingdom—a place where the people’s culture, traditions, and identity have flourished over generations. The festival is, therefore, not just a ceremonial event, but a celebration of the land that nurtured them and the unity that has bound them through adversity and triumph.

Honoring the Legacy of the Taka Royal throne and the Muwah people.
At the core of the Mannjim Festival lies the indomitable spirit of the Taka Royal Dynasty, which has ruled Muwah for centuries. The dynasty’s legacy is both rich and inspiring, rooted in wisdom, courage, and resilience. The festival celebrates not only the Taka Royal Family’s leadership and sacrifices but also the enduring influence of their ancestors and the Muwah people. In January 2025, the Taka Dynasty announced the birth of its Number 2011th descendant, a powerful reminder of the enduring vitality and growth of this esteemed lineage whose actual figure of descendants from Awasuh till date is estimated to 5,000+ descendants.
The festival begins with a solemn remembrance of Ifo Nji, a revered ruler who overcame immense hardships during his reign. His leadership during times of war, betrayal, and loss remains an enduring symbol of hope for the Muwah people. As the proverb goes, “In the darkest night, the stars shine brightest.” Ifo Nji’s reign was marked by struggles that tested the spirit of his people, but his strength laid the foundation for the Muwah we know today. The Mannjim Festival celebrates his legacy and the leadership of those who came before and after him, ensuring that their stories continue to inspire future generations.
A Festival of Unity, Tradition, and Peace
The Mannjim Festival is more than a celebration of the past—it is a celebration of unity and peace. The festival draws upon the wisdom of the ancestors, embracing the teachings that “unity is strength, and strength is born from the wisdom of our ancestors.” These words are not just an ancient proverb, but a guiding principle for the Muwah people. The festival serves as a reminder that the strength of the community lies in their ability to come together, despite challenges, to celebrate their shared history and build a brighter future.
During the festival, visitors will be treated to vibrant cultural displays, traditional music, and stunning art exhibitions that capture the essence of the Muwah people. The Royal Procession will provide a glimpse into the majestic history of the Taka Royal Dynasty, while the cake of unity symbolizes the sweet fruits of collaboration, brotherhood, and peace among the people. Visitors will also be able to witness the Bottle Dance, a mesmerizing tradition that highlights the unity and grace of the Muwah people.
The Inaugural Edition: December 2025 – January 2026
The first edition of the Mannjim Festival will take place from December 2025, to January 2026, a 16-day period filled with cultural exploration, reflection, forgiveness, blessings and celebrations. The festival is expected to bring together an estimated 5000 local participants and over 1000 international visitors, creating a vibrant and diverse atmosphere. Traditional drumming, lively dances, and the aroma of local delicacies will fill the air as people from across the globe come together to share in this unforgettable experience.
One of the highlights of the festival will be Renowned Artist Day, where celebrated artists will showcase their talent, creating an environment of creative expression. The Feast with Widows and Orphans will honor the most vulnerable members of the community, ensuring they are included in the celebration. Additionally, the Interfaith Religious Day will promote peace and collaboration among different religious groups, embodying the spirit of inclusivity that defines Muwah.
